Location:

KACHI ANEKATHANGAVATHAM temple is near Kailasanathar Temple and west of Putheri Street. It is around 1 KM south west of Ekambaranathar temple. Anekatham means - Vinayakar with Elephant head. As vinayakar worshiped this Siva Lingam the name of the temple is Anekathangavadham.

Swamy : Arulmighu Anekathangavadeeswarar

Ambal : Arulmigu Kamatchi Ambal

This temple has one Prgharam and facing east. Sundarar sung one Thevara Pathigam.

Sthala Puranam:

Mareesi Maharishi, the son of Lord Brahma found a baby girl on the lotus while he took bath in a lake. He took the baby and brought her up. He gave name to the child as Vallabai. She devoted her time in worshipping Siva and she had become a staunch Sivabakthai. One day Iranya asuran Kesi captured Vallabai and took her away to his place. Vallabai prayed Siva to save her from the asura. Siva sent Vinayakar to save her. Goddess Parvathi requested Siva to give more power to Vinayaka to defeat the Asura. To get power Siva  asked Vinayakar to worship the Linga in this temple.

Vinayaker worshiped the Lingam in this temple before fight with Kesi.  He won the war and rescued Vallabai. Vinayakar got married to Vallabai in this temple with the blessings of Siva and Parvathi.

Thevara Pathigam:

கட்டு மயக்கம் அறுத்தவர் கைதொழுது ஏத்தும் இடம்கதி ரோன்ஒளியால் விட்ட இடம்விடை யூர்தி இடங்குயில் பேடைதன் சேவலோடு ஆடுமிடம் மட்டுமயங்கி அவிழ்ந்த மலர்ஒரு மாதவியோடு மணம் புணரும் அட்ட புயங்கப் பிரானது இடங்கலிக் கச்சி அனேகதங் காவதமே.
